Learn cybersecurity

Three short chapters. No jargon, just clear ideas.

What is cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the everyday habit of keeping your devices, accounts and information safe. Think of it like locking the door of your house, but for your phone and computer.

Example: when you set a password on your phone, you are doing cybersecurity.

Did you know? A 12-character password takes centuries to crack, while a 6-character one takes minutes.

Why it matters

Our photos, messages, money and memories live online. A small mistake — a clicked link, a reused password — can let strangers into your digital life. Good habits keep them out.

Example: a grandparent receives a fake message from 'the bank' and almost shares their code. Awareness prevents the loss.

Did you know? Most cyber attacks succeed because of human mistakes, not super-hackers.

How to spot threats

Real threats often hide behind urgency, fear or amazing offers. If a message rushes you to click, asks for a password, or sounds too good to be true — pause and verify.

Example: 'Your account will be closed in 1 hour!' is almost always a scam.

Did you know? Real banks and platforms never ask for your full password by email or SMS.
